Hi

I have a Intergas Combi boiler Compact 36/30 model. It is 3 years old and is situated in the utility room. During the last 3 weeks I observed that the heating and hot water are getting on and off regular without a particular trigger. Any idea what is wrong?

Hi Dan,

Your description isn’t to detailed, but if you have heating, hot water getting on and off without trigger, no special sound and boilers keeps the ignition, then my guess would be a gas valve. Intergas boiler valve is build from rubber and unfortunately after a period of time (usually warranty period of time) it tends to react badly to the boiler internal heating. Rubber gets sticky and the boiler shuts for about 30-40 min to cool down, then it picks up the work again. Try exchanging the gas valve and if you are lucky your repair will close in about £150.
