Intergas HRE 18 OV error code 6

Hello,

My Intergas HRE 10 OV boiler is displaying an error code 6 repeatedly. Here, restarting is not making any difference. I have read the user guide but unable to fix this issue. Someone please help me immediately.

Regards

Jack

Hi Jack,

According to the user guide, an error code “6” on your Intergas HRE 18 OV means, “Flame detection fault”. It means that there is no flame when you turn on the burner. Different parts of your boiler can cause this issue like muddy/unclean spark conductor and ionization electrode. You can do the following things in order to rectify the problem.

  • Try to replace an ignition wire & spark socket cap.
  • Replace the controller of your boiler
  • If possible, replace the boiler’s ignition unit

Intergas Compact Combi boiler problem with radiators

Hi Everybody,

My two years old Intergas compact combi boiler is giving me a tough time from last two days. After checking the boiler, I have observed that few radiators are working properly while some are not. Due to this, I am not getting the hot water whenever I need it the most. What is the matter?

Thanks a lot

Chris

Hi Chris, sometimes few radiators become stubborn, therefore cannot heat well and equally. The ultimate influence is wasted energy, high electricity bills and uneven distribution of heat. Primarily, check the different controllers located on each side of your boiler’s radiators. The main reason behind checking the valves is to confirm that all valves are open. In case of blockage, it becomes difficult for you to get the even amount of heat. If valves are opened & working properly but you are not getting enough heat then, there is a backup problem with your boiler.

Intergas Combi HRE 24/18 boiler temperature issues

Hello Guys,

My two years old Intergas combi HRE 24/10 boiler is not providing the hot water since morning. I have checked it thoroughly after reading the user manual & concluded that the hot water is not reaching to its desired temperature. What should I do to make the boiler work again?

Thanks you so much

Ben

Hi Ben, the few common reasons behind the issue are as follows:

  • The flow of DHW is very high
  • The water circuit’s temperature settings are very low
  • Due to fouling or limescale, buildup there is no heat transfer in the DHW side of boiler’s heat exchanger.

If you feel that, these are reasons behind the boiler’s temperature issue do consider the following ways out

  • You have to adjust an inlet assembly
  • Power flush or descale the DHW side of the heat exchanger
  • Resting up the required temperature, set hot water circuit

Intergas Compact combi boiler losing pressure

Hello Folks,

I have an Intergas compact combi boiler, which I bought five years ago. The boiler is losing pressure & overflow is dripping, every 1-2 hours. Besides, I have to top up the boiler for having some warmth. The problem sounds quite weird to me. Please help. I would be highly grateful

Regards

Eric

Hi Eric,

The boiler losses its pressure because of numerous reasons such as leaks in the boiler’s pressure release controller, an expected issue in the boiler’s expansion vessel, presence of the air in a boiler and dripping of heating pipework. Moreover, there will be a continuous pressure loss in your boiler when pipework and radiators are leaking. Majority of the Intergas compact combi boilers come equipped with pressure meters to let users check the pressure of their boilers. Always remember that continuous & stable water pressure is required to let the boiler runs properly.

Intergas Compact Combi 36/30 boiler is leaking

Hi Everyone,

I have installed an Intergas compact combi 36/30 boiler in my home one year ago. Today, when I woke up, I suspected few leaks from the boiler. I have restarted it many times but all in vain. I have to face this problem whenever I turn it on. How I can fix this issue at home?

Thanks for your feedback

Mark

Hi Mark,

Sometimes the minor parts of the boiler are culprits behind the leaking boiler for instance, broken or damaged valve and pump seal. In few cases, the problem arises due to rusted or worn out pipe & in extreme cases, improperly installed boiler. Before fixing the boiler, you have to check the current pressure of the boiler & if this does not fix your issue do call a competent boiler engineer for investigating and diagnosing the problem in a professional way.

Intergas HRE 18 OV boiler overheating

Hello Guys,

I have bought my Intergas HRE 18 OV three years ago. From last two days, the boiler starts turning itself off constantly after four-five minutes. It was working great I have no idea what is wrong with it? Should I replace it?

Thanks a lot

Tim

Hi Tim,

I guess this is a problem related to overheating & overheated boiler should be treated on urgent basis. Please do not try to fix your boiler at home, as overheated boiler is quite dangerous. As you said that, your boiler is overheating recurrently, turn off your electrical supply immediately. When few internal parts of the boiler suffer from extreme stress boiler always, overheat therefore, it is better to fix this issue promptly with the help of boiler engineer. Sometimes, the boiler can set on fire in few seconds. It can also burst out when left untreated. That is why I would advising calling an expert boiler engineer

Intergas Compact combi boiler’s burner ignites loudly

The burner of my three years old Intergas compact combi boiler catches fire loudly. I have tried to fix it many times but all in vain. What is the reason behind it as I am unable to figure it out? Please share some ways out.

Regards

Tom

Hi Tom, please do not worry, as it is a quite common issue. You just have to consider the shared information in order to solve this issue. There are four common reasons behind it like; the pressure of the gas supply is extremely high, inappropriate ignition gap, weak spark and incorrect air/gas adjustment. Well, the solutions are very simple, for correct pressure of the gas supply contact your nearby gas company, for inappropriate ignition gap do change an ignition pin, for weak spark, check the ignition opening, replace an ignition unit located on a gas valve and finally, for incorrect air/gas adjustment, see the settings & verify.

Intergas Compact Combi 36/30 boiler no central heating

Hi Folks,

Someone, please help to rectify the problem regarding my newly bought Intergas compact combi 36/30 boiler. Apparently, the boiler is working properly & I am getting the desired supply of hot water but there is no central heating. Has someone faced this issue? If yes, then please share your valuable suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Ben

Hi Ben,

You have to check the following components of the boiler.

  • If the room regulator & weather dependent adjustment are faulty then, replace both and verify wiring.
  • If the pump is not running, firstly check the power supply & connector X2. You have to replace the faulty pump is required.
  • Another reason can be no current. In this situation, verify wiring contrary to the diagram. Afterward verify connector X4. Do replace a faulty manager if needed.

Intergas Combi HRE 24/18 boiler loud and strange sounds from pipes

Hello Everyone,

I have a seven years old Intergas Combi HRE 24/18 boiler installed in my home. Overall, it is a good boiler, as I have not faced any major issue. Well, my concern is some loud & weird sounds coming from the boiler’s pipes. I feel quite uncomfortable due to these sounds. Someone, please help me on urgent basis.

Thanks a lot

Thanks

Alex

Hi Alex,

These weird sounds are regarded as a clear sign of kettling. In general, an insufficient pressure of water, faulty thermostat and limescale buildup are the common reasons behind this issue. Do take it seriously, as all these can develop persistent issues in the boiler’s central heating system. Furthermore, these sounds can also be heard in case of pump failure and low water pressure. It is better to call a proficient boiler engineer for detailed investigation.

Intergas Compact Combi boiler’s burner resonating

Hi All,

I have purchased an Intergas compact combi boiler five years ago. Even though the boiler is quite old now but it was working extremely well until last night. Currently, the boiler is facing a very strange problem i.e. burner is vibrating a lot & as a result, I have to bear the loud resonating sounds whenever I turn on the burner. Is it something serious? Please help

Regards

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas, keeping in mind the above-given description I would advise considering the following reasons behind this issue along with the possible ways out.

  • Firstly, check the current pressure of the gas supply in case it is too low; call your nearby gas company immediately.
  • Secondly, you can face this issue if there is a recirculation of the combustion gasses. If this is a case, verify the air supply and gas flue.
  • Lastly, sometimes air/gas adjustment is not set properly. If you feel so, see air/gas adjustment while verifying the settings.

I hope that the shared information will solve your problem.
